You can read more about our Easter over at urchins but I wanted to share some photos of some of the craftier moments here. First, the slippers. They turned out beautifully although I was up until 11:45 on Easter eve getting them together. Tristan looks adorable in them and one even stayed on his foot. I clearly need to adjust the elastic on the other. My mother, of course, loved them too but my grandmothers (knitting and crocheting duo extraordinaire) were also impressed with them so that made me feel great. Plus, after almost five months he has something created by his own mother’s hands — the plight of the poor second child.
The Easter baskets turned out very nicely too. We were able to limit the candy for Katie which is always my goal. There were a few Dora things (blaach! says Mommy) but also some paints, and sidewalk chalk, really cool wooden food, and magnets, melty beads and stickers. Tristan’s basket was a little sparse but he did get the slippers — quality over quantity 🙂 And lastly, Stefan, who got downgraded to a bowl this year — Tristan having laid claim to the basket — received the world’s largest stock-pile of Lindt chocolate. We expect the bellyaches to last until the weekend, at least.
love those bunny slippers!
