CSA Tuesday – 6

CSA Week 6

Well we missed weeks four and five because we were on vacation but we’re back for week six even if it is a little late. Summer is in full swing around here and you can tell because the tomatoes have started arriving. Tomatoes are a lot people’s favorite thing about the CSA but not us. Stefan is allergic to raw tomatoes and I just can’t eat all of them but this year I know Katie will help. I’m fairly confident all of those little cherry and grape tomatoes will be consumed by her. We end up oven drying — much like sun-drying — the excess tomatoes and freezing them. Then we have homemade oil-packed oven dried tomatoes throughout the winter. Now that eggplant though, that’s something I can get excited about.

It’s so nice to see all the photos from your CSA experiment. I’ve heard about it but have never really tried it. You seem to be doing very well, so I might have to give it a go.

What a treat to receive flowers as well!

    Thanks for sharing your progress.
