A Mini Scrapbook

Mini Scrapbook Lest you think this blog has become a showcase for other people’s crafts — the kind I can buy — I present to you a recent quick creation: a mini scrapbook of our vacation to the beach. We did a “photo shoot” of the kids while we were there and all of these photos are from that night. I was really pleased with how they turned out, I was hoping the colors would work, which they do — at least for me.

Anyway, back to the mini scrapbook. First let me say it is not my idea, I got the idea from a friend who direct-sells rubber stamps. Regardless, it is super simple to make. It’s just a sheet of double-sided 12″x12″ scrapbooking paper folded in half and then quarters, accordian style. You also need four pieces of cardstock cut to 2.25″x6″ so they fit into the 3″x6″ slots created. The slots in the middle two pages were cut with a square and circle punch. The left page is folded down and secured with a brad and the right page was torn and rolled. Two of the little bookmark pieces have ribbon stapled to them and the other two have ribbon looped through a small slit. Then I just decorated with little bits and doo-dads. The sand dollar on the front is embossed in white and there is faux stitching at the bottom of the front cover. I’m not sure what I’ll put on the blush stripe, maybe our last name or something. Lastly, the whole thing is tied together with a ribbon. Pretty cute, huh? I’m happy with it and it certainly came together easily.
