Behold the Power of Socks

Socks 101

Yes, another pair of socks. This one in a single color colorway — more details below. The color reminds me of coffee with cream. I knit this pair in the smaller size and I’m happier with the fit. I picked up more stitches when turning the heel though and that was a big help. I think it takes a few pairs to figure all this stuff out. The heel is definitely better on this pair in every way so I’m happy with that improvement. I’ve got a few more skeins of manos in my stash so you may be seeing more of these sometime soon.

And, speaking of socks, did you hear about the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Sock Club? The club, of which I am not a member, ships exclusive sock yarn to it’s members with a sock pattern six times a year. It’s like those fruit clubs from Harry & David. Anyway, they just opened up the registrations for the 2007 year and I guess their bank — the one that processes their credit cards — had trouble believing that there were that many people who would join a club for sock yarn. After what is probably claimed as careful consideration, the bank decided that the club must be a scam and decided to refund the registration fee to all the members. Yes, refund all the money. Clearly some bank execs need some handmade socks.
