Does This Ever Happen to You?

Smocket - Front & Back

I’m in the midst of a smocket marathon — not really I’m just making three — and the one for Katie is going to be red on one side and a green gingham with cherries on the other side. The one she’s modeling is for her cousin. I remembered that the other day when I was browsing ReproDepot I had seen some cherry patches. So I went to order one to put on the red side of the smocket — cute, right? — but you can’t just order a patch, I mean the shipping would be more than the patch. So, I started looking in the sale section and then in the children’s fabrics and then… well you can imagine what happened. Somehow that patch is costing me way more than $2.95.

She is such a doll. I think she deserves that very expensive patch. : )

did you need to enlarge the pattern to fit katie? or was it ok the way it was?

Awesome. That is so cute. Totally off topic question, but I love those jeans Katie is wearing. What’s the brand? I have such a hard time finding pants for my skinny, tall little girl.

That Katie is such a doll. wow. So, co cute. Really, a beautiful child. Nice smocket, too. 😉 I’ve been making these for a long time (not exactly the same, because the pattern I have doesn’t tie at the shoulders, but is sewn together so it just pulls over the head), and we love them. We have them for many uses, and some that are long like an apron, some that are short like a smock. Such fun!
