A Big Ol’ Crush

I’m having a bit of a romance with Rowan this summer. I don’t know why but I am loving their yarn and their patterns and I cannot get enough. I’m planning to cast-on Juliet in cotton rope and I have an idea for a big cabled sweater for Katie out of holiday — both yarns have been discontinued. I’ve been hoarding a bunch of other Rowan yarns too. I’m blaming it on Anny when she made that gorgeous sweater for Julian at the end of last summer. You may remember she was kind enough to let me have her extra yarn and I made Tristan his own sweater for Christmas. As you can see I’ve added quite a few more tweedy skeins to my stash since then.

And today while eating lunch I was looking through a Rowan magazine from last year — number 42 — and seeing a ton of things I want to make, especially for my self-proclaimed Euro-trash wannabe husband. So I think I should just get a subscription. I know current subscribers get some benefit when they refer a new subscriber so I thought I’d see if anyone wants to refer me? In the meantime I think I’ll try to get my hands on a copy of The Rowan Story Book of Little Knits to see if I must have it — I think the answer is yes.

that yarn looks fantastic! it’s probably good that I am a marginal (at best) knitter. I don’t need the temptation of good yarn in addition to the temptation of good fabric.

I’m loving the Rowan right now, too. I just made an EZ February baby sweater in the wool cotton. So smooshy and beautiful.

Also, I have ten skeins of the Holiday in color 32 (peachy light brown) that I will surely never use. They were in a Webs grab bag order. If you would use them, I’d be glad to send them your way. I know I can do this on Ravelry too but I haven’t figured out how yet.

funny, I feel the same way about araucania yarns. Right now, though, I’ve got a hankering for some crispy linen DK weight to do the pintuck tee that lolly showed off yesterday. Hey, should you take me to your favorite yarn store??

Oh, now you really have me itching to get at my needles. A dilemma as I’m at work right now. Sadly they’d frown on my clicking away on my needles here in cubeland. Oh, well, when I get home!

I love the kimono and pants from your last post and this bundle of yarn you pictured is so enticing! Thanks for the eye candy.

The kimono is especially tempting. We’re just starting the process of filing for a domestic infant adoption and I’m really in a mood to start some projects now for the little one. Thanks for the reminder of this great project!

Oh Rowan. Yes I have had a love affair for a while. I just saw that they have their latest magazine out. Must go and buy it. Sumptuous photographs, beautiful knits, I could page through them for hours.

I was just looking at your post about the copycat the other day contemplating making it for my son.

Euro trash wannabe? That makes me laugh! Does this mean he will his handmade knits with leather pants?
