More Beachy Crafts

Scrapbook in a TinMy grandmothers are in town this weekend — they are staying with my parents — and we went to see them today since they were dying to see the kids. I wanted to make them something with the beach pictures but that would be sturdier than the mini scrapbook. Last time they were visiting they overheard my sister and I talking about how I was collecting Altoid tins for crafty projects and immediately went looking through my kitchen for plastic bags to dump their Altoids in so they could donate their tins. Aren’t grandmothers great? So anyway, I figured that I better have an Altoid tin craft ready for their inspection — why not combine the beachy photos and the tin and kill two birds with one stone?

Voila! Beachy, tinny, crafty goodness — and still a little minty too. Just like the mini scrapbook these were super easy to make. The only tough part is spray painting the tin. The end results showcase my impatience with spray paint. The little pages are connected with ribbon and they all fold on top of eachother to fit in the tin. I pretty much made both of them in an afternoon while the kids were asleep. Not too shabby. Anyway, they were distributed to their recipients this afternoon and met with great admiration — again, aren’t grandmothers the greatest? Tomorrow is one of the grandmother’s birthday and she’ll be getting more handmade goodness. Don’t worry… I’ll show you too!

Just wanted to thank you for this idea. Im doing this for my wife for our 10 year anniversary. Using a picture from each year of our marriage. Although, you must be very talented at crafts. It took me almost two weeks to get this done correctly
